When it comes to delicious white cakes and frostings, try making our Vanilla Powder your new secret ingredient! This powder is made from organic Madagascar vanilla bean extractives and organic sucrose. It makes a wonderful substitute for vanilla extract in white cakes and frostings, as it does not have caramel color like pure extracts and contains no artificial ingredients like clear vanilla extracts. Simply substitute 1 tsp of powder for 1 tsp of extract in any recipe. For frostings you may need to add additional liquid to make up for the omission of liquid extract.
Citrus zest is the perfect ingredient for brightening flavors in a baking or dessert recipe. However, it isn’t always convenient to have fresh lemons and oranges around the house. That’s why we love our Orange Peel Power and Lemon Peel Powder. These easy to use powders are a great substitute when fresh citrus zest isn’t available. Simply add 1/4 the amount of powder compared to the fresh zest called for in your recipe (ie. 1/4 tsp powder for 1 tsp fresh zest).
