Easy Tater-Tot Casserole
From the kitchen of Janita Kler:
We utilize casseroles often at our house. They are easy to toss together, make for a hearty hot meal, and generally provide some tasty left overs that can be finished up throughout the week. A favorite of my family’s is Tater-Tot Casserole. In comparing my recipe with others, I noticed that not many utilize sour cream in their dishes. To me, it adds a creaminess to the casserole that makes this classic dish even tastier!
Ingredients:
1 lb hamburger
1 10.75 oz. can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/3 cup sour cream
3-15 oz. cans of cut green beans
1 1/2 cup shredded cheese (whatever you have on hand is fine)
2 lb bag frozen tater-tots
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
***I generally do not measure the onion and garlic powder, I just sprinkle in until I think it looks good but 1 teaspoon of each should be close!
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cook hamburger then drain. Add soup, sour cream, green beans, ½ cup shredded cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt and pepper to meat then mix together. Spread in a 9×13 glass pan (I generally do NOT grease it) then layer the remaining cup of cheese over the top followed by a layer of tater tots. Bake for 1 hour or until bubbling. Serve and enjoy!
