Both vanilla extract and vanilla bean paste are great options for flavoring just about any type of dessert. Vanilla extract is made by soaking vanilla beans in an alcohol solution for a prolonged period of time, which preserves the flavor of the vanilla bean in the liquid. Vanilla bean paste, on the other hand, is thicker and contains the tiny seeds found inside the vanilla bean pod. We also carry a vanilla powder, which is made from ground organic Madagascar vanilla beans and organic sucrose.
Vanilla Extract
Our Vanilla Extract (Pure) is derived from high quality vanilla beans that are hand-cultivated on the island of Madagascar. Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla has a bold, clean, and creamy flavor that is very popular here in the United States. Add this delicious vanilla to baked goods like cakes, cookies, pies, and breads. Or splash a little in your coffee or hot cocoa!
We also carry Mexican Vanilla Extract (Pure). The sweet and smoky flavor of our high quality Mexican Vanilla makes it a great addition to any baked good. Add to cakes, sweet breads and creme brûlée, or cookies, cheesecake and even French toast. You simply can’t go wrong with the superior flavor of this amazing extract!
Vanilla Bean Paste
With a robust, intense flavor and tiny seeds, vanilla bean paste adds rustic charm to dishes like ice cream, panna cotta, cheese cake, and crème brûlée. Vanilla bean paste can be used as a substitute for vanilla extract at a ratio of ½:1, or ½ tsp of paste = 1 tsp of extract.
Vanilla bean paste can also be used for almost any recipe that calls for vanilla beans. One vanilla bean is equal to 1 to 2 tsp of vanilla bean paste (depending on how strong you want the flavor to be). Vanilla bean paste is a convenient alternative to vanilla beans, since you can avoid cutting the beans and scrapping out the seeds. This process can be a little tedious and often results in a bit of mess and waste. Vanilla bean paste also stores more easily than vanilla beans. There is no concern over product shelf life (Vanilla beans can dry out over time).
Vanilla Powder
Our Vanilla powder is made from high quality organic Madagascar vanilla beans and organic sucrose. It is a delicious addition to smoothies, oatmeal, French toast, pancakes, and waffles. Or add it as a sweetener to coffee or tea. It also works as a great substitute for liquid vanilla extract in white cakes and frostings, where the caramel color of traditional liquid vanilla would be undesirable. 1 tsp of extract = 1 tsp of powder
No matter which type of vanilla you choose, our products are sure to bring delicious vanilla flavor to anything you decide to make!
