Seasoning Blends for Chili
Chili Seasoning Blend
Our newest blend just for chili! Ancho chili powder, chipotle powder and a tough of cinnamon add amazing depth of flavor to a base of chili powder, onion, garlic, and cumin. Our Chili Seasoning Blend has a balanced, medium heat that ranks at a 5 on a 1-10 scale. This seasoning is also a great addition to potatoes, burgers, bean dips, and burritos.
Green Chili Seasoning Blend
Our Green Chili Seasoning balances bold green chili perfectly with classic Mexican flavors for a blend that is as amazing on burgers, eggs and potatoes as it is in a pot of green chili stew! Shake on chicken, pork chops or steak. Or try it as a seasoning for beef or pulled pork tacos!
Chili Powder
This classic chili blend is made from the staples of red New Mexico chili pepper, cumin, oregano, salt, and garlic. This seasoning is a great base, allowing for additional customization to fit your personal tastes.
Adobo Seasoning
Our Adobo Seasoning is made with a base of sea salt, onion, garlic, and black pepper, accented by cumin, bay leaf and turmeric. The lighter flavors in this blend make it a great compliment to white chilies and non-traditional black bean chilies. Also try adding it to chicken tortilla soup.
Chimichurri Seasoning
Chimichurri Seasoning is traditionally used in Argentina as a dressing for grilled meats. Smoky and slightly sweet, this blend gives chili a unique and unexpected flavor.
Taco Seasoning
Our best-selling Taco Seasoning is also a great blend for chili. Full of Mexican flavors like garlic, cumin and oregano, with just the right amount of heat.
Chorizo Sausage Seasoning
This traditional Mexican-style chorizo sausage blend is smoky and slightly spicy, with accents of cinnamon, coriander and clove. These sweet and spicy flavors are perfect for a hearty chili. Make our Chorizo Sausage Seasoning your chili’s secret ingredient!
Individual Chili Seasonings
Like to make your own chili blends? Here are some of our favorite seasonings to add even more flavor to a pot of chili:
New Mexico Chili Powder
This chili powder consists of ground New Mexico chilies and rates about a 3 on a heat scale of 1 to 10, which is about the same as a jalapeno. New Mexico chilies have a sweeter, earthy flavor with a hint of weediness. Try adding our New Mexico Chili Powder to your chili for extra flavor without intense heat.
Ancho Chili Powder
Arguably the most commonly used dried chile in Mexican cuisine, Ancho chiles are simply the dried version of poblano peppers. They have a mild, fruity flavor with notes of tobacco, coffee, wood and raisin, with a little less heat than a jalapeño. This mild chili adds lots of flavor with less heat, making it a great spice if you are feeding a crowd!
Chipotle Powder
Chipotle peppers are jalapeños that have been allowed to mature and turn red on the vine. They are then smoked and dried. Bold and smoky, chipotle powder is a great way to spice up chili while still maintaining the rich, hearty flavor. This spice is a favorite of ours!
Cayenne 40 & Cayenne 90
These spicy cayenne powders add bright heat with notes of citrus to your chili. Be prepared, the Cayenne 90 is very hot!
Ghost Pepper Sea Salt
Want to really spice up your chili? Made with only pure sea salt and Naga Jolokia Chili (ghost pepper), our Ghost Pepper Sea Salt packs quite a kick! We recommend adding it to your individual bowl rather than to a whole pot.
