A favorite condiment on pizza, crushed red pepper flakes are a great addition to pasta sauces, cream sauces, gumbo, and chowder.  They can be mixed into sausage or added to pickling spice to give pickles an extra kick. They can also be used in recipes as a substitute for whole dried chilies.  Our red pepper flakes are made from hotter chilies and rate a 7 on a 1 to 10 heat scale.
