Chai Tea
Small Tin – 1.5 oz (Approx 9 cups)
Large Tin – 5.5 oz (Approx 32 cups)
Ingredients- Cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, black tea, allspice, cloves, and black pepper
Use 2tsp tea per 8 oz. cup. Pour hot water over tea. Steep for 5-5 1/2 minutes.
To Brew Traditional Chai– Recipe: ½ cup of Chai mixture (approx) and 7 cups water. (Note: you will be adding 4-7 cups milk) Put the chai in water and heat slowly to a boil. Add any sweetener (white sugar, brown sugar, honey, sweetened condensed milk, splenda, etc.) to ‘taste’ and low boil 5-10 minutes. Stir again and turn the pot off. Steep for another 15 min. DO a TASTE TEST. Add additional sweetener and/or black tea to your taste. Strain and add 4-7 cups of warmed milk. Experiment to personal taste and enjoy! Makes 14 cups. (Divide or multiply recipe as needed; can use tea ball or cheesecloth instead of straining)
Equipment: A stainless steel or glass pot, measuring cup, and strainer.
