It doesn’t get much better than throwing a few ingredients together in the crockpot and letting it cook on its’ own all day. By the time you get home or are ready for dinner something amazing is waiting for you. This Mongolian Beef recipe is one of the best crock pot recipes I have put together in a while. Who would have thought “Chinese food” could be this easy?! Serve with white or fried rice.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb tenderized steak (flank, minute, etc)
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup bell pepper (sliced)
- ¾ cup soy sauce
- ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 green onions (chopped)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 ½ tsp ginger powder
- 1/3 cup corn starch
Directions:
- Slice flank steak against the grain in approx 1/4” wide strips. Toss all strips in corn starch to cover all sides. Set steak aside.
- Whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, and ginger powder in the crock pot. Add in bell pepper and green onion. Add steak to crockpot.
- Cook on low for 6 hours (or high for 4). Serve with fried rice.
