Meal Type:Alcoholic Beverage
Ingredients:
2 cups unsweetened brewed Gold Rush tea
5 cups water
1 pint of your favorite Bourbon
1/4 cup granulated sugar
One 12-ounce can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
One 6-ounce can frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
Chilled ginger ale, as needed
Directions:
Combine brewed tea, water, bourbon, sugar, and lemonade and orange juice concentrates in a 9 x 13-inch baking pan or any container large enough to hold the mixture that is only a few inches deep. Place in the freezer. About once every 45 minutes, stir the blend with a fork. Continue this for a couple of hours, until the mixture has the consistency of a granita: icy, slushy, and granular.
To serve, use an ice cream scoop or large, heavy spoon to fill a glass 2/3 full with the frozen tea. Top with ginger ale. Don’t stir. Let the ginger ale coagulate with the frozen tea, then drink up!
